Biography

Professor Andrew Spring

Assistant Professor, Department of Geography and Environmental Studies, Wilfrid Laurier University

Andrew Spring received his PhD in Geography from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2018 and his MASc in Civil Engineering from the University of Toronto in 2004. Prior to joining Laurier, he worked as a knowledge mobilization specialist with the Global Water Futures program and held roles with environmental and sustainability organizations, as well as experience as a water process engineer.

His research program is built on long-standing partnerships with Indigenous communities and government organizations in the Northwest Territories, focusing on climate change, sustainability, and food security in northern and remote regions. Andrew has established an extensive track record of collaborative research that integrates traditional knowledge with innovative scientific approaches to strengthen community resilience.

He regularly supervises graduate students and welcomes inquiries from those interested in pursuing research in northern sustainable food systems, climate adaptation, and community-based sustainability initiatives.
